We have been handed Torah. How do we carry it?
We are teachers of Torah. How do we share it?
At Tikkun4Change we are committed to
questions and challenges,
engagement and involvement,
study and action.
At Tikkun4Change we are committed to fostering the growth and development of our adolescents into adults who are committed to the pursuit of justice and active participation in creating a better future.
At Tikkun, teens have the opportunity to:

learn from, engage and challenge Rabbi Lutz who teaches all classes.

build personal connections with Rabbi Lutz and their classmates.

practice their leadership skills as they regularly engage in activities in the community.

build lifelong relationships with classmates as they meet in small groups in individual homes.

Benefit from a curriculum created by a team of experienced and respected Jewish educators.

And all at an affordable cost*: we are a community without walls. Literally. Therefore we are able to focus on personal connections, individual care and concern for the world around us rather than on the costs of keeping a building open.

What does it mean today to be a Jew?
What does it mean to be a leader?
What does it mean to be part of a community?
What are my responsibilities in the world I live in?
What can I learn from my tradition about how to be a leader 4change?
You will have the opportunity not only to discuss these and many more questions but also to use your learning to search for your own answer as you engage in community action projects in partnership with both your classmates and teens in like-minded programs around Los Angeles.
Grades 10 & 11
God, Torah and the pursuit of Justice
What exactly is "social justice"?
And what exactly does God got to do with it?
For that matter, what's Judaism go to do with it?
Do I have to believe in God to work for justice?
Why should I care?
What can I learn from my tradition about how to be a leader 4change?
You will have the opportunity to ask, challenge and discuss these and many more questions. Our learning will focus on how Jewish values and God beliefs might offer important perspectives on the world around us and our responsibility to it. Our learning will be followed by a community “action” that focuses on the issue we have discussed. (ie. An afternoon at M.E.N.D. preparing meals for low-income families, participating in the “March for Our Lives” or discussing our local environment and planting trees at Tree People, and much more.
The highlight of the year will be our trip to Washington D.C. to participate in the L'Taken Social Justice Seminar, where we will have the opportunity to learn about the process of legislative change, explore significant issues and lobby in the halls of Congress.

We believe that everyone who wants a Jewish education deserves one. We also know that every family's situation is different. Therefore we have no set tuition. Instead, we will work with you to determine a monthly contribution that is comfortable for you and helps to support the Tikkun4Change community.

No one will ever be turned away from Tikkun4Change over financial concerns. We are here to support each other, celebrate community and make Change possible - in your life and in the lives of others.
